10. Thomas Halliday
Kicking off our list and we delve into the case of despicable Thomas Halliday, an 87 year old man who was convicted of 234 counts of sexual abuse, creating and possessing child pornography, abusing a teenage girl for four years and filming and photographing the abuse.
The judge, it is safe to say, was not impressed with Halliday’s crimes and the court threw the book at him, resulting in a sentence of 1870 years with a minimum of 935 years to be served before being considered for parole.
Prosecutors said Halliday began abusing the girl in 2009, when she was 14 and the sentence was by far the longest to have ever been handed down in the state of Pennsylvania.
Its more than safe to say that Mr Halliday wont be seeing the parole board.
